Privacy Policy

General

We are devoting our maximum effort in attempting to meet fully the requirement under the Data Protection Act to protect your personal data. To this end, we have adopted a stringent policy, set out below. Where the term "personal data" is used, it has the same meaning as defined in the Act.

Mode of collection of personal data

Type of information collected

Apart from the information which you voluntarily provide to us, we collect no personal data about you, and we do not collect more personal data than is necessary for a particular purpose. On our website, the only instance where you are required to provide us with your personal data is when you are making an inquiry, which you may do by completing the contact us form. We tell you which piece of information requested on the reply form is optional, but at the very least, we do need your name and email address before we can reply to your enquiry.

Purpose of collection

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service.

Possible transferees

We do not transfer your personal data to anyone else unless it is necessary for the legal services that we provide to you, where it relates to the administration of the firm's relationship with you or we are compelled to do so by the law or a Court Order. In the course of carrying out your instructions we may need to transfer your personal data information to countries which do not provide the same level of data protection. This is most likely to involve a transfer to our overseas offices. In that event we will put in place appropriate arrangements to ensure that your information will be adequately protected.

Security

As a consultancy firm, we fully understand the meaning of the word confidential, and this is how we will treat your personal data. Our network is protected by a highly acclaimed interceptor firewall which reports daily on internet activity and any intruder attempts. It uses Secure Sockets and 128K encryption in addition to the already secure email encryption. On a manual level, your personal data will only be handled by a number of staff, who all has the integrity to keep your personal data confidential, and to apply their use only for the purpose for which they are collected. Each staff member in our office needs his/her own password to log onto his/her e-mail, so your message sent to a particular person cannot be opened by mistake.

Retention

We only keep your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purpose. We may use personal information provided by you in order to conduct appropriate identity checks. Personal information that you provide may be disclosed to a credit reference or fraud prevention agency, which may keep a record of that information.

Right to access

We need your help to keep the personal data which we hold of you as accurate and up-to-date as possible. Please therefore notify us once there is any change to your information. In addition, you may find out from us what, if any, personal data we hold about you; and require us to correct or up-date this data. You may notify us of any change to your personal data, or make a request to access and/or correct it.
